Elder Terri McFaddin-Solomon
The root of the word in encourage comes from the word COURAGE. It means to be-brave, be-fearless, be-determined and be- confident.
To be EN-COURAGED means to be filled with HOPE, STRENGTH, CONFIDENCE, AND RENEWED COURAGE.
To be DIS-COURAGED Means to be robbed of courage. To be-fearful, be-hopeless, be-helpless and be-reckless.
Judges 20:21-22 (NIV)
21 The Benjamites came out of Gibeah and cut down twenty-two thousand Israelites on the battlefield that day. 22 But the Israelites encouraged one another and again took up their positions where they had stationed themselves the first day.
HOW DO WE ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER TO BE BRAVE - FEARLESS - DETERMINED AND COURAGEOUS?
1. HAVE FAITH IN GOD AND HIS WORD
Numbers 23:19 (NASB)
"God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
